Sunday's Thought!

The other night, I found myself watching the news, and on another night, one of the news commentary programs. I didn't have to watch the programs for very long to find myself upset and worried about the future. Rising gas prices, food prices, and just about everything else. It hits us "middle-class" people hard since we aren't the richest people in the country. All the constant bad news is enough to make a person go crazy and wonder what is next?

I have to step away from the TV news and focus on something else as I get keyed up about the nonsense happening in the world. Sometimes, I find myself getting fussy, blood pressure rising, and stressed about all I hear on the news. Then, I realize, this is all in God's Plan. I don't need to be getting upset, mad, fussy, or worrying about the future. I just have to trust God and know He is in control of it. That's it! He's in Control!

A Christian has the benefit of reaching out to God and saying "Help me Lord God to get through this" or "Please God help me to relax and know you are in control and I need not worry for tomorrow."

"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matthew 6:33 NIV

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6 NIV

"Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you."  1 Peter 5:7 NRSV

"Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered
in anything short of God and his will for us."  - Billy Graham
