Sunday's Thought!

Today, I celebrate my 24th wedding anniversary. Yes, to the same woman. I will say it has been a great 24 years because the woman I married is a wonderful godly woman. God truly blessed me. I will not say that it has been a perfect 24 years because we are both humans. Any time humans get into something, it isn't going to be perfect because humans aren't and can't be.

Over the years of our marriage, we have been through many of life's events together. We have had siblings and family members pass away and go on to heaven, challenges with health, challenges with careers, we celebrated weddings, accomplishments of friends and family, and have been through many things which life throws at people.

We have had quite a bit of fun together too. We have traveled, gone to watch trains, adopted dogs and cats as our furry children, done things with friends, and enjoyed many fun and adventurous things that life offered along the way.

My wife and I grew up in the church. We became Christians at different times in our lives and in different Christian denominations. I grew up in the Nazarene church and she grew up in Southern Baptist church. The denominational difference doesn't matter because we both believe in Jesus Christ, God, the Bible - what is considered the foundational beliefs of the church. When we got married, it was very important for us to have a Christian wedding ceremony focusing on the traditional vows and specifically invited God to be in the marriage. Not to give us everything we wanted but to direct our marriage be the Leader in the marriage... a very important part.

However, I have noticed God has been with us throughout our marriage. He has been faithful to be there whenever we needed and always when we needed. Sometimes God would take care of us without us even praying to Him for help. He has given my wife the grace and understanding she has needed to put up with me.

When you give your life to Christ and focus on Him, He will take care of you. You may still go through life's trials and problems, but you will have peace and contentment beyond any explanation that I could ever write.

Happy Anniversary to my sweetheart!
