This past week has been, for many, another challenging week because of the craziness of COVID-19. For me, I have some physical challenges which are remedied with a water therapy workout so I am anxious to get back into that. Other than that, I have had a pretty good week.
It seems though, fear is gripping many people. Of course, it is understandable as we are living in an unprecedented and unusual time. As I read through social media I find so many seem afraid of what could be next. As a Christian, I do not fear the future and definitely not COVID-19. Although I will obey the guidelines we are asked to follow.
This past week, I found that a friend had written a post that sums up what I've been thinking along with several of my friends. I am sharing her writing here-
"As a Christian, I feel like the book of Revelations is unfolding before us. It shouldn’t be shocking, either, given the state of immorality in our world. Every day, the boundaries of sin seem to be pushed further and further. The line between right and wrong has slowly been erased by society, television, pop culture. Power, fame, and money seems to be the only concern for some. We have name-calling and finger-pointing throughout our world with a lot of issues. The people that are making national and world decisions can’t get along and sometimes aren’t even trying. The media is out of control. Where is the love? Where is our humanity? What are we becoming?
Witchcraft, spiritualism, “New Age” belief systems are being celebrated and exalted. Abortions, literal baby murders, are called a “right,” and are supported by so many. We have been removed further from the world God created and intended.
We better work on getting it right with God. Getting it right with one another. We need to take this time to re-evaluate ourselves. We need to prepare and repent. Jesus will return like a thief in the night. People are dying left and right. Will I be one of them? Will you? Are we ready? This is a fantastic wake-up call, and I am taking it so seriously. I want to go Home to my Father when my time is up.
Until The Lord calls me away from this world to the next, I want to make it clear that I believe in Jesus Christ as the true Lord and Savior. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was sacrificed on the cross, died for our sins, and rose again. He loves us all dearly (far more than we deserve) and forgives our sins if we are in repentance. His Word says 'whosoever believeth in Me, should not perish but have everlasting life.'"
She wrote quite a bit of truth in a few short paragraphs.
What is your relationship with God? Have you given much thought to where your soul will go when you pass away? These are questions you really should give some thought. The Christian Life isn't a game or some weird practice that some people and the media like to make it out to be. It is serious and deserves your attention. Who knows when our last breath will be? Like the COVID-19, it happened all of a sudden and our world was turned upside down fast!
