Sunday's Thought!

Matthew 27:51-52, 54

"And behold, the curtain of the temple
was torn in two, from top to bottom.
And the earth shook, and the rocks
were split. The tombs also were opened.
And many bodies of the saints who
had fallen asleep were raised. When
the centurion and those who were with
him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw
the earthquake and what took place,
they were filled with awe and said,
'Truly this was the Son of God!'"

- Matthew 27: 51-52, 54

Christ the Lord Is Risen Today!

YAHOO! HALLELUJAH! AMEN! CELEBRATE! PARTY! GLORY! PRAISE THE LORD! As a writer, I just cannot write or say one word when I think about what Jesus has done for me. Me! And you too! I am just a regular guy who writes and photographs about dogs, cats, gardens, and railroads. I am not a celebrity or popular political candidate or one of the wealthiest guys in the country. Just a regular joe!

When I stop to think that Jesus gave His Life for me so that I would go to heaven when I die, if I accept Him as my Savior, amazes me. Why? Why would anyone do something that great for me? I don’t understand but I know He did. The reason He did, is because He loves us much more than you and I understand or, as a writer, I can’t begin to explain.

Easter Sunday brings quite a few memories to mind. From all the music preparation I did as a church organist to the sermon, celebrations, and family dinners- all done in celebration of Christ’s resurrection from the grave! As a church organist, I loved the Easter season because it was full of special music to learn and play during the Worship Service. After church, my mother always fixed a delicious ham for Sunday dinner. It was a special time because it wasn't something we could have that often. It was a day to celebrate!

One of the reasons I have such a hard time understanding God’s Love for me that He would give His only Son Jesus to die on a cross for me, my sins, is that I have a hard enough time getting people, who I can see, to do things for me like a few repairs. Or, most people I know do not have the time to get together to do something besides a quick dinner or a “hello.” Maybe since I can see them, but I can’t see God, is why it’s hard to comprehend how God loves me so much!

This season, my heart is full of feeling God’s Love during the Easter season. It seems to be overflowing within me and I want to jump for joy and in excitement.
