Railroad Photography! "Canadian Pacific Leads the Freight"

"Canadian Pacific Leads the Freight"
(C) Allen Pearson
One of my favorite aspects of railfanning is seeing what is sometimes referred to as "foreign power." When I first heard the term, I thought they meant a train from a European or Asian country or the locomotive was built there. Obviously, a train could not come to the USA from anywhere overseas. It could mean Canada or Mexico though.  Basically, it was neither.

"Foreign Power" means the locomotive is from another railroad like a Union Pacific locomotive powering a train on Norfolk Southern rails Or CSX doing the same. And vice versa. Though in this image, the train is being led by a locomotive from another country, Canada, it is being led by a foreign railroad too- Canadian Pacific. To see it, was exciting.

The "Canadian Pacific Leads the Freight" is available on printed products including traditional quality archival papers you can frame, metal, canvas, standouts, posters, and notecards. To learn more, please visit my Railroad Photography Gallery.
