Garden Perspectives: Caladium

(C) Allen Pearson
With Spring seeming to be right around the corner, though Vern's official arrival isn't until March 21, I had to share an image of one of my photos warm weather plants, the Caladium.

For most of my life, I remember seeing these beautiful plants in garden centers, my mother's garden and home as well as throughout museums and businesses.

I never paid much attention to the plant for my own since it requires a shady area rather than direct sunlight until I moved to a house with a front porch. Though porch does receive a bit of afternoon sun in the warmer seasons, it's not enough to harm the plant especially the ones which allow part sun.

What kept my attention on the plant over the years? The intricate design and colors have been the draw for me.

Printed copies of this image are available on various printed products such as traditional archival quality paper, metal, canvas, standouts and note cards. To view products for "Caladium," please visit "Allen Pearson's Photos - Garden Perspectives - Caladium."
