Garden Perspectives: The Blue Pansy

"The Blue Pansy"
(C) Allen Pearson
A few years ago, I began planting Pansies in a variety of colors along the front walk, in hanging flower baskets and pots on the front porch. The intent was to give me an outside project to do in the fall when I would normally put away my gardening supplies and begin my winter hibernation.

I was surprised and happy to see the Pansies grow and create a gorgeous landscape of color! I received quite a few compliments on them. What surprised me was the flower seemed to die over the harsh parts of winter and quickly returned to life in late winter to usher in beautiful color cheering up the otherwise drab landscape.

The color and intrinsic simplistic detail of the Pansy gets my attention to the flower. If you look around at Garden Centers, the variety of colors can create a color palette to cheer up a landscape.

"The Blue Pansy" is available on printed products including traditional quality archival papers you can frame, metal, canvas, standouts, posters, and notecards. To learn more, please visit my Garden Perspectives Gallery.
