Sunday's Thought

There have been many times over the years when a hymn or chorus would come to my mind and I would think, "is God trying to share something with me" or "is God wanting me to write about it?"  For me, being a former church organist and a Minister of Music's kid (yes, I am a MMK), music has had a profound effect on my life.

This week, was a bit unusual.  While I read the Bible electronically including devotions received by email and on the Page-A-Day calendars,a Scripture that I read doesn't usually follow me around getting my attention repeatedly like this one-

I found the Scripture a few years ago on a Page-A-Day calendar.  I had set it aside for later use, then my wife used it for a note and then I used it as a reminder. I looked at the Scripture on the paper several times after reading the note from my wife, and thought- WOW- like that and set it aside.

While I had been thinking about what to write this week, this Scripture kept coming back and coming back and coming back to mind.  So, I think God is telling me to share this.

After reading this verse in several Bible translations, Commentaries, and study Bibles, the verse is sharing a summary of Jesus' ministry to all people. He is saying to us to repent and believe in the Good News of the Gospel.  The time is short.
